Yes, I think it could be a good idea for students too if they learn how to manage their time so that it won't affect their studies in the long run, also they should learn skills that are in demand for example software development or writing, and also put themselves out there, by engaging and building a brand, it makes it easier for people to recognize them and get gigs.

If you did great at your freelancing career, you can continue even after school if you are not able to land a job that you like or offer you a good pay.
