There is a difference between youtube ban and youtube demonetization. ban is something that happens when you do something that is prohibited by youtube terms of services. For instance, youtube does not accepts subs for subs, if you do it, you get warnings and three warnings is ban. However, if your subscribers or watch time goes below the minimum threshold, your channel will be demonetized and ads will be reinstated only when you again met minimum criteria.
